Tammie Jones of Muncie, Ind., is the 2012 U.S. Amateur Champion in the Ladies Division after a 9-4 win over Asia Cycak of Raleigh, N.C. Jones will move on to compete in the WPBA U.S. Open next year, and will forever carry the title U.S. Amateur Champion wherever she goes.
The final match opened in the 8-Ball set with Cycak jumping out to a 2-0 lead. Unfazed, Jones came back to win the next four games, taking a 4-2 lead into the 9-Ball set.
Cycak again took the first two games of9-Ball, but just as in the 8-Ball set, Jones settled into her game and took the next five games and the match 9-4.
Jones went undefeated in her first U.S. Amateur Championship experience. Cycak finished with a very respectable Runner-up finish, recording her only losses in the tournament against Jones.
Christine Honeman of Conifer, Colo., finished in 3rd Place in the Ladies Division.
