Brian Parks from Bakersfield, Calif., took home his second U.S. Amateur Championship title Sunday evening at Strokers – Palm Harbor.  Parks defeated Daniel Gordon of Marietta, Ga., 11-4 in the final round, the victory comes 3 years after his first U.S. Amateur Championship title.

The final match opened in the 8-Ball set, with Parks setting the tone.  He opened up a 4-0 lead before Gordon was able to take his first game.  The pair would trade wins to close out the 8-Ball rack with Parks leading 6-2.

Gordon cut Park’s lead in half by winning the first game of the 9-Ball set, but Parks quickly regrouped to take the next four games.  With Parks on the hill, Gordon was able to fend off his ouster by taking another game, but in the end, the former champ would not be denied his second title.

Parks will move on to compete in the 2013 U.S. Open, courtesy of the APA.

Gordon finishes with a strong Runner-up performance that included handing defending champion Ernesto Bayaua his only two losses of the tournament.  Bayaua finished in 3rd Place.

Troy Jones of Muncie, Ind., and husband of the Tammie Jones, winner of the Women’s Division, finished in 4th Place.

Stewart Warnock of Bardonia, N.Y., and Jeff Blattel of North Augusta, S.C. finished tied for 5th Place in the Men’s Division.
