Hot hands are a guarantee in Las Vegas, and nobody's palms are any more ablaze in the Riviera Pro 8-Ball Open than those of "Razor" Ray Shultz. During Wednesday's 8 p.m. Owensboro City Championship, "Razor" knocked off his hometown buddy, Nick Varner, 7-4. That puts Shultz's Vegas string at 3-0 for the week, but what makes the feat so special is the fact that Varner is probably one of the top, if not the best, 8-ball shooters alive.

Some other big names got knocked off Wednesday night, including a couple tournament favorites. Mike Coltrain ran to a 4-0 lead on defending champ Francisco Bustamante and pulled out a victory on the hill. Ralf Souquet ended Jose Parica's hopes of victory, and Dennis Hatch, Tommy Kennedy and Jeremy Jones have all been sent packing.
