APA players have traveled from all over the United States and Canada to finally kick off the Camel 8-Ball Open Division National Team Championships. Those in attendance to help the tournament begin included Co-founders Terry Bell and Larry Hubbart, the APA National Office staff and Camel Pool Manger Larry Kiger, to introduce tournament events.

With the tournament room packed with 90 pool tables, players filled the tournament room at 10:30 Tuesday morning as the qualifying prizes were announced.

Players were anxious as tournament play was underway in the hopes to take home the 1st place prize of $25,000.

The first of opening speeches came from Kiger, who announced, action on the Camel Corner Pocket for the Camel Speed Shot contest and the Camel Pool Party happening later this evening at 8:00 p.m.

APA staff member Deborah Kopacz sang this year's Canadian and American National Anthems to begin tournament play. The roar from the crowd and excitement of play put spirtis in high gear.

The Camel 8-Ball Open Division will take place over the next four days and final rounds will be held on Saturday 2:30 p.m. Stay hooked on the Web site for contiuous updates on the tournament and action at the Camel Pool Party.
