8-Ball Doubles Championship

8-Ball Doubles Finals

After 256 teams played over two days in the 8-Ball Doubles Pre-registered Championships, Mo Huntin from Prairieville, La. and Raging Bull from Berea, Ohio were the last two teams standing and ready to compete in the finals. Roy Hunt and Mo Entremont made up Mo Huntin and Jason Drahos and Mark Tredanaro were the Raging Bulls. The match was a race to four.

Mo Huntin captured the first two wins; Raging Bull had a rough start but quickly got their games in line and took the third game, clearing their balls after the break making a comeback. Mo Huntin claimed the third and the match was 3 to 1, Raging Bulls seemed to be down and out, having to win three to Mo Huntin’s one. But they prevailed, winning the next three games. Raging Bulls felt the pressure and ran out during the fifth game. Raging Bulls took the match right from under Mo Huntin. “We have never played together before coming out here, we play differently, and that took some time to get used to, but it worked for us. We played safes when we needed to and tried to play smart. We decided to just play and have fun, if you come out here and only think about winning, you’re not going to win, you have to have fun,” said Mark Tredanaro. Raging Bull took home $2,500 each.

Second place, Roy Hunt and Mo Entremont took home $1,500 each. “We’ve been playing together for about a year, Roy actually talked me into playing, he’s my team captain and since our team lost the city championship we decided to sign up to play in the Doubles,” said Mo Entremont.

It was a Long Night

A fan of Raging Bull, 8-Ball Doubles Pre-registered team, had enough for one day. After two days of back-to-back competition players and fans were worn out by the 8:00 pm finals on Tuesday evening, it’s no wonder the finals room also became the temporary nap room.
