APA Open Division 8-Ball National Team Championship
AmberBock 8-Ball Open Division Champions Crowned
Pool Time Grill of Baton Rouge, La., are this
year’s champions
in the Open 8-Ball Division of the APA National Team Championship. Pool
Time Grill defeated Rac Pac of Stafford, Tx., in the finals to take home
$25,000 in 1st Place prize money. In addition, Pool Time Grill also received
a 1st Place team trophy, individual team plaques and commemorative champagne.
As Runner’s-up in the Open 8-Ball Division, Rac Pac received $15,000
in cash, in addition to a team trophy, individual team plaques and commemorative
champagne.
In semifinal action earlier in the day, it was Rac Pac advancing to the final round with a victory over Magic of Des Moines, Iowa. Pool Time Grill advanced to the final round with a win over Shot Gods of Topeka, Kansas early on Saturday. Both Magic and Shot Gods tied for 3rd Place, each winning $7,500 in cash.
Finishing in 5th Place following the quarterfinal round (Round 16) Friday night were Jerry’s Kids of Flushing, Mich., Tuf E Nuf of Oklahoma City, Aristocrats of Oklahoma City, and Wild Things of Marceline, Mo. Each team received $5,000 in cash.
Nearly 600 Open 8-Ball teams (596 to be exact) from across the country came to Las Vegas to compete in the Ladies Division.
