Camel 8-Ball National Team Championship
(Ladies Division)
August 16-19
The
ladies of V 3's of Louisville, Ken., are this year's champions in the
Ladies Division of the Camel 8-Ball National Team Championship. V 3's
defeated Chicks with Sticks of Peoria, Ill., in the finals to take home
$10,000 in 1st Place prize money. In addition, V 3's also received a 1st
Place team trophy, individual team plaques and commemorative champagne.
As Runner's-up in the Ladies Division, Chicks with Sticks received $5,000
in cash, in addition to a team trophy, individual team plaques and commemorative
champagne.
In semifinal action earlier in the day, it was V 3's
advancing to the final round with a victory over 2001 defending Ladies
Division Champions Hustlers of Gretna, La. Chicks with Sticks advanced
to the final round with a win over Storm Chasers of Pueblo West, Colo.,
early on Mon. Both Chicks with Sticks and Storm Chasers tied for 3rd Place,
each winning $2,500 in cash.
Finishing in 5th Place following Round 7 Sunday night
were Bring It On of Ontario, Calif., Mill Creek of Morrisville, Penn.,
Once is Never Enough of Foxborough, Mass., and Ladies of the Night of
Memphis.
Fifty-five ladies teams from across the country
came to Las Vegas to compete in the Ladies Division.
