WELCOME to the 20th Annual National Team Championshipsthe largest and richest of all of the APA national tournaments! Theres
no doubt youve practiced many hours to elevate your game, because competition at this level is much higher than regular weekly League play.
With the rewards as high as they are at the 2000 APA National Team
Championships, your team will need to rally and stay focused, challenging themselves to play their best, as this is the highest level of amateur team play. Youll experience more excitement and more
intensity, and youll wear down as you advance, playing one grueling match after another. If you are up to the challenge, you will return home victorious as APA National Team Champions!
Before you become absorbed by what lies ahead for your team, take a moment to look at
where you are and take pride in what you have accomplished so far. Only a small portion of our 175,000+ members makes it this far. No matter how your team plays during your
competition in Las Vegas, walk away satisfied, knowing that your team made it to the Nationals. Remember that you left many teams at home who lost that opportunity. Your team
was successful in reaching the pinnacle of APA team play!
This is the 20th anniversary of the APA National Team Championships, and we want you to
celebrate with us. We are offering you more than the contest for our National Team Championships. There is poolplaying activity in every nook and cranny of the Riviera, wherever
your interests rangefrom watching to participating and from amateurs to the pros. We have it all! Dont miss around-the-clock fun with 24 hours of MiniMania tournament events going on
daily. I plan to spend more time in the APA booth this year.(See my Pool Emporium schedule on Page 13.) Take a few minutes to stop by and say hello!
On behalf of the entire APA staff, as well as our sponsorsthe Camel Brand of R.J. Reynolds
Tobacco Company, Molson Beer and Jack Danielswe wish you and your team the best of luck! Enjoy the tournaments and all the festivity Vegas has to offer!
Best regards, Renee Lyle Poehlman President
