In Pre-Registered Doubles in the Minimania Room, it was Kips Big Boys, Joe Wallis and Mike McSwain of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, defeating the Dynamic Duo, Howard Trahon and Ernie Breaux of Abbeville, Louisiana to take top honors as well as the $5,000 1st Place Prize.

The Dynamic Duo had a shot to take the match, but failed to sink the 8-Ball in the final game allowing Kips Big Boys to rally and win the match.

“Words can’t describe my feelings, this is definitely the most exhilarating experience of my life,” said Joe Wallis of Kips Big Boys.

Wallis’s partner, Mike McSwain, said the key to the duo advancing in the tournament was maintaining their emotions at all times.

“We tried hard to control our emotions and keep each other calm, plus we played really good pool,” said McSwain.

The pair teamed up together 3 years ago as a way to practice and have played in doubles competition together since.

“Joe and I seem to shoot similar styles and seem to dominate anyone who plays us,” said McSwain.

The partners plan to return together next year to defend their title and look forward to the tough competition.

“Throughout the tournament each team we played was very cordial.  I congratulate every team we played.  This has just been a great time overall,” Wallis said.
