Jack & Jill Championship2007 APA National Singles Championships

Jack & Jill 8-Ball Championship

The final match of the Jack & Jill Championship paired CJ’s Long Shots from Yorktown, Va., teammates Charles Barringer (SL7) and Jamie Swisher-Gibbs (SL3) head-to-head against 3 Rails and a Prayer from Nashville, Tenn., teammates Thomas Johnson (SL5) and Heather Denham (SL3).  After two and a half days of competition, the field had been narrowed from 256 teams to these two teams competing for the $5,000 1st Place prize.

The game was a 4-3 race.  CJ’s Long Shots won the lag and started the game.  Swisher-Gibbs started the match, and the teams bantered back and fourth on the table until 3 Rails and a Prayer prevailed.  CJ’s felt the heat from this SL8 team and turned up their game.  Denham broke the second match and that was 3 Rails and a Prayer’s last time to start a game.  CJ’s Long Shots claimed the next four consecutive games.
