2003 National Singles Championships

And the winner is…

The 2003 APA National Singles Championships wrapped up Saturday with the semi-finals and finals of the 8-Ball Classic and 9-Ball Shootout with more than $300,000 in cash and prizes being awarded.

Sportsmanship Awards

Each year the referee staff, APA staff and all National Singles Championship participants have the opportunity to nominate an 8-Ball and 9-Ball participate to receive the Sportsmanship Award. Sportsmanship is the key to success of any event, winners this year each received a commemorative medallion.

2003 Sportsperson in the 8-Ball Classic is Bill Carlucci from Audubon, NJ. The 2003 Sportsperson in the 9-Ball Shootout is Michelle Billodeaux from Shreveport, LA.

Jack & Jill Championships Results

The final match for the Jack & Jill Preregistered Championships found the Midwest against the East Coast as Poultry Power from Brookfield, Ill. went head-to-head against the husband and wife team Expecting A’s from Bayonne, NJ. After two and a half days of competition, 17 Rounds and 446 matches, the field had been narrowed to these two teams competing for the $5,000 first place prize. Read full story...

League Operator Meets Up with Players

Michigan League Operator Nona Rosebohm met up with two of her players on Friday during the tournament. Robert Meyer and Michael Horn were checking out the tournament boards between matches when Nona caught up with them. Read full story...

Competition is Getting Tighter

APA staff members Diana Leedom and David Unnerstall update the tournament boards between rounds. The competition is getting tighter for everyone as some participants are being eliminated. Those still in the tournament check the boards to determine who they play and where they will be playing next. Read full story...

Vendors Supply Participants

Vendors were available to participants during the entire duration of the tournament. Participants had the opportunity to purchase equipment, cues, cases, shirts and other pool related merchandise. Read full story...

Benjamin Wiebe & Jill Rempel First Match a Success

Benjamin Wiebe has one victory under his belt in the APA 8-Ball Classic. “I’m glad I won my first match,” said Wiebe, “the jitters are gone now and it’s just playing pool from here on out!” Read full story...
