The 2001 National Singles Championships kicked off with a note of good luck from APA President Renee’ Lyle Poehlman, Camel Representative Jule Banzet, and Jack Daniel’s Representative Chris Vignoe.  Banzet introduced “Turk-Ish Gold” to the crowd.  “Turk-Ish Gold” informed the players of the Spa room set up outside of the Tournament Room offering relaxation and massages.  He also excited the crowd by telling them of the “Party Under the Stars” on Saturday night. Attractions at the party include, a snake charmer, fire-eater, live camels, and belly dancers; everyone is sure to have a great time.  APA’s very own Deborah Kopacz sang both the Canadian and American national anthems. Renee’ closed by wishing all the national finalists “good luck!”
