Daniel Gordon of Marietta, Ga., has handed defending champion Ernesto Bayaua his first loss. The match opened in the 8-Ball set, with Gordon opening a strong 5-0 lead before Bayaua could get on the board. Gordon’s dominance continued into the 9-Ball rack, where he captured the first two games. Ernesto took the next two games, but Gordon’s lead was insurmountable as he closed out the match in the next game 7-3. Gordon will face Brian Parks with a spot in the finals on the line at 3pm (EST). Meanwhile, Bayaua will have to fight his way out of the one-loss bracket if he hopes to repeat as champion.
